Illinois Statewide General Election Results
These are the big ones — especially the races for governor and attorney general, which have been hotly contested.
Illinois U.S. House General Election Results By District
Two of the most-watched races in Illinois this election cycle are in Illinois’ 6th Congressional District, which includes Chicago’s west and northwest suburbs, and in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, which is just west of the 6th and includes parts of DeKalb, McHenry, Kane, and Kendall counties.
Both races were considered toss-ups, and both have been eyed closely by Democrats who are seeking to flip control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Cook County Election Results
The Cook County Assessor’s race made unexpected headlines earlier this year after a Chicago Tribune and ProPublica investigation found the current system for assessing properties in Cook County to be inequitable and filled with errors. In the March primary, Frederick “Fritz” Kaegi defeated incumbent Assessor Joseph Berrios to become the Democratic nominee. He faces Republican Joseph Paglia in Tuesday’s election.
Note that the elections for Cook County Board President, County Clerk, County Sheriff, and County Treasurer were uncontested races and therefore have not been included below.
