The first ever Louder Than A Lawnmower suburban teen poetry slam brought together 8 suburban teams (Palatine, Joliet West, Glenbrook North, Maine South, Maine East, Wheeling, Leyden, and Niles West) in a three round poetic competition. An off-shoot of Louder Than A Bomb, the annual city-wide teen poetry slam presented by Young Chicago Authors, Louder Than A Lawnmower was held at Maine East High School and packed about 150 people into one of the most exciting events the Suburbs have ever seen!
Hosted by Kevin Coval, DJed by Itch13, with special performances by Robbie Q. Telfer and LTAB Champ Nate Marshall. Organized by Maine East’s Eric Coval and Dave Hessert.
