Making Peace with Revelation
Making Peace with Revelation
Dr. Jim L. Papandrea‘s lecture, Looking Back on the Future, places the book of Revelation in its historical context of an early Christian Church facing persecution. Papandrea, Assistant Professor of Church History at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and author of the forthcoming book, The Wedding of the Lamb: A Historical Approach to the Book of Revelation, explains many of the images that continue to capture the contemporary imagination – the number of the beast, the rapture, and the plagues. Reverend Stephanie VanSlyke, Senior Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Wilmette, UCC, introduces this lecture.
