Marriott International has teamed with a non-profit urging customers to make sure guests are tipping their housekeepers. It’s called the “The Envelope Please” initiative and it’s meant to ensure that guests make a habit out of tipping their housekeepers by using designated envelopes left in hotel rooms. Karen Kent is the president of Unite Here Local 1 in Chicago which represents 17 thousand hospitality workers in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area and discusses how tips can make a huge impact for housekeepers.
