Millions of U.S. residents may lose medicaid next year

When the federal government declared the COVID-19 pandemic a public health emergency, annual Medicaid “redeterminations” halted. But if the emergency expires in December, hundreds of thousands of poor and disabled Illinoisans will be kicked out of the government-funded healthcare plan.
