Most assault-style weapon owners in Illinois have not registered their guns

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker banned assault-style weapons and high capacity magazines in Illinois last year. People who already owned those weapons were allowed to keep them, as long as they were registered with the state. But state police say only 1% of people with firearm owner identification cards in Illinois have done so.
