Never Forgotten - The Holocaust Images of Claude Andreini
By Breeze RichardsonNever Forgotten - The Holocaust Images of Claude Andreini
By Breeze RichardsonBelgian Photographer Claude Andreini, who resides and works in Venice, Italy, has been photographing abandonned concentration camps for nearly 10 years. These haunting images of Dachau, Terzin, and other camps are breathtakingly serene and eerily still. This work has been shown extensively in Europe, but this is the first showing in the United States. Andreini’s book will be available for signing and purchase after the lecture.
May 1 is Holocaust Remembrance Day, which marks the anniversary of the Warsaw ghetto uprising in Poland between April 19 and May 16, 1943. Known as Yom Hashoah to the Jewish people, Holocaust Remembrance Day is an internationally-recognized commemoration of the victims and survivors of the Jewish Holocaust in Nazi-occupied Europe.
