New WTTW doc shines spotlight on ‘Mother of Improv’ Viola Spolin

A new WTTW documentary explores the life and legacy of Viola Spolin, the social worker-turned theater guru who pioneered the improvisational techniques later used by The Second City and Saturday Night Live.
