It’s crunch time for Chicago officials in Copenhagen hoping to win the bid to host the 2016 Olympics. Chicago officials have spent the day largely out of the public spotlight as they rehearse for tomorrow’s presentation they hope will seal the deal.

Observers acknowledge what’s most important is what happening behind the scenes in the one-on-one conversations voting members have with Chicago officials. But with 2 presidents, a king, a prime minister, and a queen of television in town, Chicago’s delegation is taking no chances in having their message heard.

Chicago 2016 spokesman Patrick Sandusky says that’s why the involvement of President Barack Omama is critical.

SANDUSKY: The president has been involved in our bid from the very beginning he’s attended events rallies made mutlitple films and when things were able to clear up for him he’s coming here as well.

Tonight, the Olympic committee holds its opening ceremony on Copenhagen’s waterfront for VIPs. Tomorrow, attention moves to the Bella Center convention facility just a few miles away for the bid city announcement.
