Last month, the Ecuadorian government signed a deal that will give the Chinese-run oil company, Andes Petroleum, rights to explore for oil in the Amazon Rainforest. The deal comes after heavy protest by environmentalists and indigenous groups, who are concerned about potential damage done to the ecosystem and way of life.
