After years of blaming Springfield-and their lack of action on pension reform-for the economic crises facing the state and the city, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is proposing doing the exact same thing for Chicago’s looming pension crisis. He wants to “push this back, allow us the time, the foresight, to work through the issues”. In other words, kick the can down the road.
