Playwright Rob Florence is marking the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with a play. “Katrina: Mother-in-Law of ‘Em All” opens next Friday at the Den Theatre Mainstage in Wicker Park. The story is set in the famous Mother-in-Law Lounge in New Orleans’ Treme’ neighborhood. It follows six people as they relive how they survived one of the worst disasters in American history. Rob Florence joins us to tell us how the play provides another lens to digest what happened and its aftermath. Actress RjW Mays reads an excerpt from the play.
