At Google, the big ideas that push the boundaries of what’s possible are known as “moonshots.” Think the self-driving car. Or Google Glass. They’re developed at Google X, the company’s secretive laboratory for technological breakthroughs. Project Loon is one of the things Google X is working on. The idea: Spreading internet to the most remote places on Earth with high-altitude balloons that can stay aloft for as long as six months.
