American journalist Steve Zind wanted to find out more about his Iranian heritage. To trace his family roots, he met with the 95-year-old patriarch and keeper of the Zand family history, himself a descendent of an 18th century Persian ruler. Zind’s search provides an intimate portrait of Iran and its history.

The story was one of a five part series at Vermont Public Radio called Iran Journal. The report was provided by the Public Radio Exchange.
