The nominations for this year’s Grammy Awards were recently announced and among the 83 categories are a couple that suit the Radio M format: Best World Music Album and Best Reggae Album. The Best World Music Album category incudes the first ever entry from the African country of Malawi. The Zomba Prison Project is a collection of songs sung by inmates and guards at the maximum security Zomba Prison. The man behind the recording is Grammy winning producer Ian Brennan. We chat with him about the project and play a few tunes off the album. We’ll also hear music from some of the other Grammy nominees in the aforementioned categories.
