Rauner’s Priorities Differ On Obama Library, Amazon

Governor Bruce Rauner says Illinois may be too broke to commit tax dollars to the Barack Obama presidential library on the South Side. But he says the state’s not too poor to offer big subsidies for Amazon’s second headquarters here. \

Rauner will not say how much he’s prepared to offer Amazon in about two weeks. But if the company chooses Illinois, the governor says the long-term payback will be “many, many tens of billions of dollars” in economic activity.
