Sendy Soto announced as Chicago’s first chief homelessness officer

She’ll be tasked with creating a five-year plan to address homelessness in Chicago.

Meanwhile. ,Alderman Byron Sigcho Lopez maintains his post as housing committee chair after several conservative members of the council held a special hearing to remove him over a free speech controversy.
