Musical duo She & Him visited the Chicago Public Radio performance studio today for an interview with Sound Opinions hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot. The “She” of the group, Zooey Deschanel, has primarily made a name for herself as an actress, appearing in such films as “Almost Famous,” “The Good Girl” and “The Happening.” But, as Elf fans will know, she’s also a singer, having performed in the jazz cabaret act “If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies” since 2001. Deschanel met her “Him,” musician M. Ward, on the set of the 2007 independent film “The Go-Getter.” The two began collaborating via email and eventually released their first album Volume One this past spring. Listen to their first single, “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here.”
