The lame duck legislative session comes six months after the mass shooting at a Fourth of July parade that left seven people dead and dozens more wounded.

Supporters of the bill say now is the time to pass gun control and to prevent another tragedy.

Reset reflects on the anniversary with the sponsor of the Protect Illinois Communities Act and a Highland Park resident and youth organizer who wrote an op-ed in the Chicago Sun-Times titled “Gen Z is tired of ‘thoughts and prayers.’ Pass the Protect Illinois Communities Act.”

GUESTS: State Rep. Bob Morgan (D-Deerfield), represents the 58th district

Rachel Jacoby, organizer for March For Our Lives
