How stigma can hurt those at higher risk of monkeypox

The science behind monkey has shown an association between the disease and men who have sex with men. Knowing who is most affected by a disease means public health officials can focus their work and reach out to communities who are most at risk. However, this news can be a double-edged sword, stigmatizing those same at-risk communities and giving a false sense of security to others.

Reset explores this alongside the history of stigma surrounding certain diseases.
