Study Focuses On Retaliation Against Low-Wage Workers

A new study finds that labor and wage laws in Illinois don’t effectively protect workers from retaliation when they raise complaints. The National Economic and Social Rights Initiative and the Raise the Floor Alliance surveyed more than 240 low-wage Illinois workers. It found that even though nearly half had experienced wage theft or injury at their current or most recent jobs, few reported that or other workplace violations.
