A recent study from the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University found that one in two renters are paying 30 percent of their monthly income for rent. The study’s authors point to the housing bust which forced more people to rent. Chicago magazine’s Dennis Rodkin explains how renters are faring, and other housing issues that are making the news.
