The drive to push invasive Asian Carp out of Illinois

Here in Chicago, we’ve become familiar with some invasive species, particularly those that affect Lake Michigan. And one of the major threats to our ecosystem has been the Asian carp. Faculty members at Western Illinois University just received thirty thousand dollars to continue their study on mitigating the Asian Carp invasion. Jim Lamer, the Kibbe Field Station Manager at Western Illinois University, joins us to talk about what the grant will allow them to study. Photo Credit: Flickr/USACE HQ
