The nerds behind some of the things you love most
What do a game designer, a professional binge-watcher and knitwear designers have in common?
This week, we are bringing you a collection of stories from our Nerdy Job series! These conversations serve as a chance to discover the creators behind some of the things we love most. We’ll learn about how a person ended up doing something super cool, surprising, and maybe even a little random.
First, we hear from Elizabeth Hargrave, creator of the popular bird-themed game Wingspan. We follow her path from health policy wonk to full-time board game designer. Then, we talk to someone who literally binges television for work. Sherrie Gulmahamad is an editorial insights strategist at Netflix. Plus, three knitting pattern designers give us a look at their craft. We hear from Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits, Jennifer Berg, who goes by Native Knitter, and Safiyyah Talley, known as the Drunk Knitter.
We plan to continue this series and we’d love your input! Do you have a nerdy job? Do you know someone who does? Email your pitch to NerdettePodcast at gmail.
