The Russia Investigation, Cybersecurity, and Midterms with The Root’s Terrell Starr

Terrell Jermaine Starr, a senior reporter at The Root, hit the streets of New York to ask Black people for their take on the FBI’s Russia investigation. Their answers varied, but when Starr asked how this investigation affects them, as a Black person, a similar sentiment was shared among the group. One person answered, “it impacts mainly minorities in general because it leaves us in limbo. Not a lot of us have the time to pay attention...or to care about politics.” Terrell Jermaine Starr joins us to discuss U.S.-Russia relations from a Black perspective. He also has a recent investigation in Mother Jones titled The Russian Hacking of 2016 Was Just a Taste. Here’s What We Could Be In For, which recounts how Ukraine has served as a testing ground for virtual destabilization.
