The Supreme Court keeps abortion pill mifepristone legal — for now
Access to the drug will remain widely available as litigation continues. The case is now in the hands of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
The Supreme Court ruled Friday to uphold the FDA’s approval of mifepristone, a medication used in half of all U.S. abortions and to treat miscarriages. The ruling blocks lower court decisions to ban or limit the drug earlier this month.
