Two upcoming dance performances in Chicago test the mettle of contemporary dancers as well as tap and percussive artists. The A.W.A.R.D. Show is a competition with a big monetary prize, and the Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s Rhythm World reveals innovations in the field of tap. Eight Forty-Eight‘s dance critic Lucia Mauro offers highlights of both performances. The A.W.A.R.D. Show runs through Saturday at Columbia College’s Dance Center. You can catch Rhythm World next Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at the Museum of Contemporary Art Theater.
