The Ugandan Army’s December attack on the camp of Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebel group in Northeast Congo ended up a disaster. The LRA’s escape and their scorched earth retreat has killed 900 civilians, displaced 140,000 people and resulted in the abduction of 160 children. The U.S. military assisted the Ugandan Army in the assault by providing a million dollars worth of fuel, satellite phones and a team of 17 advisors to help plan the attack.
