

WBEZ’s ‘Prisoncast!’ creates an audio experience for incarcerated people and their families
The broadcast event airs Sunday Sept. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. on WBEZ, Vocalo and Illinois Public Radio stations around the state.
From the boisterous crowds at the Bud Billiken parade to the sounds of a backyard barbecue to personal messages from loved ones, incarcerated people in Illinois asked WBEZ for help to hear the sounds they missed most from outside of prison.
Prisoncast! is a journalism and audio project from WBEZ, Vocalo and Illinois Public Radio to serve people in prison and their families on the outside. Prisoncast! will air live on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m.
Reset gets a sneak peek into what listeners can expect from two of the minds behind the project.
