Earlier this year, chemist Ken Suslick of the University of Illinois licked competing scientists when his team created the first truly practical “electronic tongue” sensor to be able to quickly and accurately distinguish between different types of sweeteners. He spoke with Eight Forty-Eight‘s Alison Cuddy, and began with an appetizer course on how this “artifical tongue” came about.
