When we look back on this week of February 1, 2015, one we will unfortunately remember is the untimely passing of Arts Critic Andrew Patner. Andrew was a broadcaster for WFMT and he was a critic, focusing on classical music, for the Sun-Times. Before both of those jobs, Andrew Patner worked at WBEZ. He was a contributor and fill-in host for the Mara Tapp Show and he was also the co-host of the Saturday Afternoon show, Metropolis with Aaron Freeman. WBEZ has always been a small shop. And back in the 90s, this station was half the size of what it is now, 20 years later. The death of Andrew Patner has been felt keenly at the station and with our broader WBEZ family. Two of Andrew’s co-workers and co-hosts from the show Metropolis, Aaron Freeman and John Dempsey join us in studio. They have not been on the air together since the end of Metropolis, in 1997. Former Metropolis Producer, Jody Becker, also joins the conversation.
