The Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir returns to Chicago this week to perform at the Symphony Center Presents Special Concert. This South African group, blends together gospel, freedom songs and global classics in their performance. Shimmy Jiyane, the choir master, choreographer and founding member of the Soweto Gospel Choir and Siya Mkefa, a member of the Soweto Gospel Choir will join us for this week’s Weekend Passport. As always, our global citizen, Nari Safavi, joins us to give you a couple ideas to help you plan your international weekend!
