As demolition of Harpo Studios continues, one West Loop resident has been trying to preserve some of its history. Moshe Tamssot (MO-sha TAM-sott) says it’s too bad the now-shuttered building where Oprah filmed her TV show is coming down, but he’s been collecting bricks from the site at night and giving them for free to people who want a keepsake. Tamssot says he’s taken care not to trespass on the site, and that he’d rather see them in the hands of people who care about the history of the West Loop than in a landfill.

WBEZ’s Odette Yousef has the story.
