When she first opened Afriware Books back in the early 1990s, Nzingha Nommo said she filled the store with the books that changed her life.

Now, the book shop is closing its long chapter in the Chicago suburb of Maywood, but it will open a new one in the form of pop-ups back where it first started in Oak Park.
