On July 8th, 1947, a rancher discovered some metallic debris on his property in New Mexico. He contacted the sheriff’s office, and the sheriff contacted the Army Air Force. Questions began to arise about what had landed there in what became known as the “Roswell Incident.” Historian John Schmidt recalls what happened.
