Worldview is on the road. Today, our show comes to you from Dearborn, Michigan, where we are broadcasting live from the Islamic Center of America. Over the last year, one of the national news stories to come out of Dearborn centered around Bill McGraw, a veteran Detroit Free Press writer and local historian. In January, the Dearborn Historian journal published McGraw’s story titled “Henry Ford and the Jews,” which highlighted Henry Ford’s anti-Semitic beliefs and Adolf Hitler’s endorsement of Ford, who remains a prominent figure in Detroit and Dearborn. Dearborn Mayor John O’Reilly subsequently ordered the issue recalled and fired McGraw. McGraw joins the show to talk about censorship and Ford’s anti-Semitism.
The Worldview bus tour is visiting communities throughout the Great Lakes region for a week as we celebrate the show’s twenty-fifth year on air. From water insecurity in Flint to indigenous rights in Kalamazoo, we are sharing stories that allow you to experience the world through the communities in your own backyard.
