Twenty-one young people filed suit against the federal government in 2015. The case Juliana v. the United States asserts the U.S. government failed to do enough to stop climate change. A similar lawsuit decided earlier this month is forcing the Netherlands’ government to significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions. More climate lawsuits are pending in Norway, New Zealand, the UK, and Uganda. Juliana v U.S. is about to get underway, and has captured people’s attention, with support rallies, yesterday, in several dozen U.S. cities. We’ll talk with Phil Gregory, co-lead council in Juliana v. the United States.
