Ukraine is home to large numbers of Russian speakers. Since the Orange Revolution, the correlation between language preference and political preferences may be increasing. Russian speakers tend to favor pro-Russian conservatives, while Ukrainian speakers are often more sympathetic to pro-Western politicians.
