Global Activism: Connecting U.S. Kids with Kids Abroad

It's Thursday and time for our Global Activism series. Each Thursday we hear about an individual who's decided to work to make the world a better place.

Vicki Perella is the founder of the Aspire Inspire Foundation based in Joliet , Illinois . They collect backpacks and school supplies from children in the United States and send them to disadvantaged children abroad.

So far they've sent almost 6,000 backpacks to places like Kosovo , Sri Lanka , and Peru .
