Global Activism: Building Homes for Earthquake Victims in Peru

It's Thursday, and time for our Global Activism series. Each Thursday we hear about an individual who's decided to work to make the world a better place.

One of the first groups we featured on our Global Activism series was Coprodeli USA .  They help poor Peruvian families build homes and get educated.

Father Miguel Ranera is the Founder of Coprodeli USA I talked with him when he was in Chicago last month to attend a celebration of Coprodeli's work held by Chicago-area volunteers.

Last year a devastating earthquake hit Southern Peru , leaving tens of thousands of people were left without their homes. Coprodeli was already building houses in that region when the earthquake hit.  Now they have made it their goal to build 10,000 new homes, schools, and health clinics in the area by 2010…
