In recent days there's been a brutal crackdown on people demanding democracy in Guinea. The military ruler Moussa Dadis Camera apologized for the violence, but continued to ban subversive gatherings.

The Junta's attacks on protestors peaked on Monday when 50,000 people filled a soccer stadium to protest a bid by Camera to stand for presidential elections due in January.

Amaddu Jalloh is president of the Guinean Association and Friends of Guinea in Chicago. He describes what happened next.
