Global Activism: Partnering With Kids in Uganda

Kids in Uganda that are part of the Dwan Madiki Partnership.

It's Thursday, and time for our Global Activism series. Each Thursday we hear about an individual who's decided to work to make the world a better place.

Katie Scrantom is one of the founding members of the Dwan Madiki Partnership. The organization works with children in Uganda who've been affected by the country's civil war. Katie was part of a student group at Loyola University called Invisible Conflicts, which tries to bring attention to global conflicts that often don't get a lot of coverage in the mainstream media. The group organizes a number of events on campus and it was at one of those events where the idea for Dwan Madiki first came up.
