Earlier today, American and Chinese officials reportedly made a deal allowing Chen Guangcheng to return to his family. The blind, self-taught attorney has spent the last six days at the U.S. embassy in Beijing. He escaped from house arrest in rural Shangdong province. Chinese authorities arrested Guangcheng to prevent him from continuing his human rights campaign against forced abortions and sterilizations.

The agreement eases tensions between the two countries ahead of today's annual visit to Beijing by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. However, specific guarantees by the Chinese government regarding Mr. Chen's safety and freedom remain unclear. Sophie Richardson joins Worldview to discuss the events. She's advocacy director for Human Rights Watch’s Asia Division.
