EcoMyths | The first line of rain runoff defense: You

When storms hit metropolitan Chicago, some rainwater soaks into the ground — and some runs off into the city’s sewer system, carrying along oil, chemicals and other pollutants with it. More than 700 cities around the world, including Chicago, have water pollution concerns due to combined stormwater and sewer overflows. Jerome and Kate Sackman from EcoMyths Alliance chat with landscape architects Cliff Miller and Julie Siegel about rain gardens and other systems that capture and use stormwater before it hits the sewers.
