Paris Climate Change Talks, Czechoslovakia's 'Velvet Divorce' and the Chicago Folklore Ensemble

We’ll get an update on the upcoming Paris Climate Change talks with Alden Meyer, who will attend the talks. He’s director of strategy and policy at the Union of Concerned Scientists. On November 25, 1992, the country of Czechoslovakia was dissolved and split into two nations, known as the Velvet Divorce. Historian John Schmidt reminds what happened. For Global Notes, we’ll hear the Chicago Folklore Ensemble. The group blends oral history and traditional music together in original compositions. PHOTO: Monica McGivern- Flickr
