World History Minute: Death Of Cleopatra

On August 12th, 30 BC, Egypt’s 3000-year reign of ended. As romantic and political squabbles between Rome and Egypt intensified, war broke out. With Mark Antony and Cleopatra’s loss of Egypt to Octavian, the shame was too much to handle. So, on this day 2046 years ago, Cleopatra committed suicide. Historian John Schmidt tells us about the death of Cleopatra and the fall of Egypt.
