Costume designer Cat Thomas comes home to accolades

Last month Chicagoan Cat Thomas gave a speech at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. Her message to students: No dream is too big.

Cat’s not an actor, but you’ve probably seen her on the big screen. Her costume designs have been worn by everyone from Meryl Streep to Uma Thurman and won her a Costume Design Guild award. When WBEZ’s Richard Steele met with her, she had recently received a Distinguished Alumni Award from her alma mater, the Chicago Academy for the Arts.
