Editors Note:‚ ‚ On January 19th, 2010, our colleague Melanie Palmer lost her 4 year old daughter Taylor to a rare, genetic auto-immune deficiency called HLH or hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, as well as from complications from Macrophage Activation Syndrome (MAS) Taylor’s story touched friends, family, colleagues and complete strangers thousands of miles away.‚ It also led to the establishment of a foundation to help support children and families facing similar conditions.
