Women fill less than a quarter of C-level roles in U.S. companies, according to a 2018 McKinsey report. But a new initiative aims to more than double those numbers—and fast.

The Chicago Network, an invitation-only group of more than 400 female executives, has announced their Equity Pledge, asking companies to commit to having women fill 50 percent of leadership roles by 2030. (Note: WBEZ has signed onto the pledge)

For more on this initiative, Morning Shift sits down with Chicago Network CEO Kate Benson and Suzet McKinney, CEO of Illinois Medical District and signatory of the Equity Pledge.
