Men’s Shelter Tries To End On A Good Note
Fifteen men remain at a homeless shelter in Uptown that is slated to close for good two days before Christmas, but where staff are aiming to empty out by the 16th. The shelter at the People’s Church is closing because it failed to raise private match dollars needed to pull down public funds. Seventy-two men once stayed there. Staff say they fear that some of the men who remain there may have nowhere to go after next week.
